# Get started with the Engine

Utilize all Firstbot Engine features to create a unique custom AI Agent.

The Firstbot Engine provides a visually-driven interface to design workflows that connect multiple AI bots and tools to create your own AI agent.&#x20;

## 1. The Engine Interface

Build and edit AI agents on the canvas, on the right side. All previousely created agents will appear on the left.

## 2. Create your first Bot

To get started, you'll need to create your first "master" bot. This first bot will serve as the highest level of abstraction, providing the **general process** that will govern the entire AI agent.

As the first node in your workflow, this master bot will take inputs from the user, process that information, and then pass it along to any connected downstream bots or tools. &#x20;

## 3. Connect Tools

After creating your initial master bot, you can begin to build out the rest of your AI assistant by connecting additional tools and bots.&#x20;

You can choose from a library of pre-built tools that have been published by other Firstbot users or create custom tools by writing your own script.&#x20;

## 4.Publish

AI agents, custom tools and bots created by you through the Engine can be published to the firstbot [Services ](/services/overview.md)marketplace and used by other people.&#x20;
